. . I am having lots of problems with a few programs and was wondering if you could assist me. About 8 years ago I installed Girlfriend1.0. There was absolutely no documentation sent with this program and there was no help file, but I thought I had it figured out pretty well. About two years later I upgraded Girlfriend1.0 to Girlfriend1.5, by installing the patch called PromiseRing1.1 and Car2.0. About eight months later, after corrupting my MSMoney files, Grilfriend1.5 uninstalled itself, deleting Car2.0 with it. I later found out that there had been a virus called MOS (Man On the Side) which probably explains part of my problems.
. . About six months later I decided to try again. I installed GirlFriend1.4 and, other than the lack of documentation, everything seemed to go well. About 3 years later, I upgraded GirlFriend1.4 to GirlFriend3.0 (Marketed under the name Fiancée), by adding EngagementRing4.1 as well as Car2.2. I installed EngagementRing4.1 on Christmas day and Car2.2 about 8 months earlier. I have a friend who had this same set-up, but he tried to install Mistress1.1, which caused all sorts of conflicts. I was very careful not to install anything that even looked or acted like Mistress1.1, so I know that wasn't the problem. I had noticed another program running on occasion which GirlFriend3.0 called Cousin2.0, but I never did see exactly what it was doing. It always seemed to run while I wasn't watching. Then, on Valentines Day, after corrupting my MSMoney files, I thought GirlFriend3.0 uninstalled itself, deleting Car2.2 with it. I found out later that it hadn't just uninstalled, but had transferred itself and was residing in the same directory, on another system, as Cousin2.0. After a bit of research, I found out that Cousin2.0 wasn't its real name, it was actually called TruckerBuddy0.3, but that's another story…
. . I need another copy of Car, preferably 4.x. I have a copy of PromiseRing1.1 and EngagementRing4.1 sitting in a box and I'm not really sure what to do with them. Since they were purchased for a specific version of Girlfriend, I would not even think of trying to use them with a different version…they would probably cause some serious conflicts. I have rebuilt most of my corrupted MSMoney files, but it was a lot of work and not something I want to have to do again any time soon.
Any help you can give me would be most appreciated…
